Carrizozo Music celebrates the 4th of July.   From 4:30-6:30, Paul Pino and the Tone Daddies will perform original New Mexican music on the porch of the Carrizozo Woman’s Club.  Bring a lawn chair, grab a rib dinner with all the fixings from the Woman’s Club annual fundraising bbq, and join us for an evening of celebration.   After the Portico Concert, move on to Valle del Sol with La Ultima playing at the gazebo prior to the fireworks.

The Tone Daddies feature the vocals, original music and guitar of Paul Pino.  The band includes lead guitar Joe Noriega, who extensively has toured the West Coast, drummer Harold Montoya who started playing professionally with Al Hurricane at age 12, and Greg Martinez winner of many awards as a Christian studio musician.  Several of their songs have been rated #1 on Reverb Nation, and in the top ten of KANW 89.  The Tone Daddies will play a variety of two steps, rancheras, reggea, rock, waltzes, R&B, blues and cumbias.

Other concerts in the Carrizozo Music 2016 season include the Sunday, July 17 concert with cellist Joel Becktell and pianist Amy Greer, a collaboration with Mountain Entertainment Group for the Arts to take place at Sacred Grounds in Ruidoso at 4:00.  On Friday, July 29, Taylor Rae Stearns, singer and songwriter from Austin, Texas will perform at Trinity United Methodist Church. Thursday, September 1, brings the Dixieland sound of Jim Shearer and the Second Line Survivors with guest Mike Sizer,  formerly clarinetist and saxophonist with the internationally-renowned Dukes of Dixieland.    Late September features the Ying Quartet, resident string quartet and faculty at Eastman School of Music, and in October, The Altura Winds, will perform woodwind and piano quartets.

To reach the Woman’s Club from Rt 54, turn West at 12th Street, between the 54 Emporium and Roy's Ice Cream Parlor. Turn right onto D Ave and go one  block to the historic WPA building on 11th Street and D Avenue and the firesworks are just East of Carrizozo on 380.

Is the band La Ultima the band from last year that obviously don't know any patriotic songs & couldn't even play the Star Spangled Banner or America the Beautiful? Really!?

They plan to mix in some patriotic songs with their usual Spanish music.
